Sweet Art!

In recent Art lessons, Foundation students looked at some delicious cake artworks by artists such as Andy Warhol and Wayne Thiebaud. We were especially inspired by the sweet cake artworks by Melbourne artist Alice Oher. 

Using handmade rectangle stamps, students stamped layers of colourful paint to make tall cakes. To these they stamped different shaped decorations using ink pads. They added fine details using poska paint pens and experimented with foreground and background by adding a table and wall behind their cake. Lastly, they designed a cake stand which they cut out of coloured paper to further develop fine motor skills. Well done on these delicious creations!
