Capital Works Update

Stage 1 capital works for our new Kildare Campus at Mt Terrick Rd continue to progress in line with the building program and remain on track to meet the scheduled completion date. It is important to be mindful however, that factors outside our control may impact progression as we move forward, including weather conditions, accessibility of materials and of course Covid.

We are pleased to report that 95% of ground works at the site have now been completed.

This includes completion of the concrete slab for the Administration building and a half completed slab for the Learning building. The two final concrete pours for the Learning building were scheduled to be completed by the end of this week, or early next week.

The steel for the Administration building is currently being fabricated and we should start to see this going up in the next couple of weeks.

The car park, bus lanes, driveway, and basketball courts have all been trimmed and curbed, and are ready for asphalting which will also occur within the next fortnight.

The onsite dam is currently holding significant water after recent rain which is excellent, and the new pump station for the dam will soon be completed.

Additional works to commence in the coming weeks include:

  • Sewer pump works
  • Erection of the bike shelter (as soon as asphalting works have been completed)
  • Engineering of pedestrian and main gates
  • Support holes to be completed and bricking to begin on entry ways.

Discussions are ongoing between Learning Leaders and staff around design for Stage 2 works.

It was extremely exciting to be on site last week to see the developments and to see Anne Marie in her future office!

As always, if you have any questions about the capital works, please feel free to contact me.
