Covid-19 Update

                                                                       Sunday 02/08/2020

Dear Families,

The Premier has just announced that Victoria will move to a ‘State of Disaster’. Within this announcement, we now know ‘Remote Learning’ is likely to continue for the duration of Term 3.  We are still awaiting official correspondence from the Department of Education who will provide clear directives and provide clarity on statements that were discussed this afternoon.

We know:

  • On-Site learning will still be available for families who work in ‘Essential Services’
  • On-Site learning will still be available for families who require support and who are considered ‘vulnerable’
  • The staff at Newlands Primary School will continue to provide learning that will support our students.

As previously mentioned, once the Department of Education releases its official directives, we will ensure we send a comprehensive email to our learning community. The Premier discussed Tuesday as a 'Pupil Free Day'. We are awaiting further correspondence to see if it applies to Newlands Primary School.

We understand that this news will be very difficult for families and our students. We encourage families to please contact the school if they would like support. We will do all that we can to ensure that we get through this together.

Please stay safe and look after each other.

Thanks,

Luke

ON-SITE LEARNING REMINDERS

Temperature checks (Updated)

Morning and afternoon temperature checks will continue at school. If a child presents with a temperature of 37.5 or above, parents/carers will be required to collect their child.

Drop off and Pick-up - Week 4

We will continue to assemble and dismiss students who are attending On-Site learning from the school's basketball court. Parents MUST wait until the child's temperature has been read and the child is within a normal range. Parents are asked to arrive to school between 8:50 - 9:00.
