Rugby League - Toni Palmer Memorial Shield

Yesterday our year 5 & 6 Rugby League team travelled to Inverell to participate in the very first annual Toni Palmer Memorial Shield Cup. Our team had been training very hard with Mr Casson and Mr Killeen and this showed at the carnival. Mr Casson is very proud of the way the boys played together and the fantastic sportsmanship displayed. The team won two of their four games and can be very proud of these results. Thank you to Mrs Knights for capturing some fantastic pictures from the day.

Sport Stories

Mrs Gippel has been inundated with lots of fabulous sport stories from over the past week. Please enjoy the achievements of all of these wonderful students across our school.

Rugby League

Some of our St Edwards kindergarten students played against each in a rugby League game other Saturday 25/6. Cody Cooper (KA), Jett O'Hearn & Zac Cooper (KM), who play for Kootingal Roosters, with their opposition, Eli (KS) & Rocco (Not pictured- (KS) from Collegians Red. Great work boys.

Over the last 6 weeks Luca has performed at Inverell, Armidale and Tamworth eisteddfods in solo dance and drama. She achieved two 1st places, one third place and 5 highly commended results across her Jazz solo, Modern solo, mime and drama monologue.

She also performed as part of a dance troupe in 2 dances, both of which earned 1st and 2nd prizes at these eisteddfods.

Last weekend she also performed at the Tamworth City Dance Academy mid-year competition where she earned 2nd place in the 10-14yrs Jazz solo and highly commended for 10-14yrs Modern solo.

Football/Soccer

Kaleb and Baylen Etheridge and Lukas Lambert travelled to Gunnedah on Saturday 26/6 to participate in the local soccer carnival. They played together in under 10's division this meant Baylen and Lukas played up two divisions. The team played 4 games in their pool coming away with 3 wins. All three boys scored a goal at some point in the day. In the finals the team came away with 3rd place out of 10 teams.

Fantastic effort from not just these three boys but from the whole team.

The boys showed great determination, skill and team work.Great job boys!!
