Library

The Lyndale library is a proving to be a popular place for students and can be seen buzzing with activity during recess and lunchtime as students work together, relax together or read.

What’s been happening in the library?

Throughout each year the library runs various competitions and brings a range of themes to the attention of the school through promotions and displays. Some examples include Women’s History Month, ANZAC Day, Mother’s Day, World Refugee Day, and the Environment.

Congratulations to Puja Gunasekaran of Year 7C who won the Mother’s Day competition.

In term 3 we look forward to celebrating NAIDOC and the Children’s Book Council Awards (CBCA). The CBCA theme this year is Dreaming with Eyes Open and we will be running competitions and activities with lots of great prizes up for grabs.

New Books for 2022

The Library is constantly purchasing new books for your reading pleasure.  Whether that be through requests, recommendations, advertising, most popular, we strive to have a variety of genres to suit all student’s tastes.

Since Feb 2022 the library has catalogued over 350 new books with many more to come in terms 3 & 4. Keep a look out on the New book Display in the Library.

New Student ID cards

With the roll out of the new student ID cards in term 2, you have no more excuses for not bringing your card to the library when borrowing.  Please remember to do so, as this also helps staff with serving you a lot faster.

Term 3 Competition

Running in Term 3 the Lyndale Library will be hosting a competition for years 7-9 English classes. The competition can only be won as a class.

What you have to do:

Bring your student ID/library cards to the library when you plan to borrow with your English or Literacy class.  The first class to have all students borrow with their ID card present will WIN a hamper of goodies for the class to share.

Class size - Over 75% of the class total has to be present to qualify.

The hamper of goodies will be on display in the library should you wish to see what you are competing for.

For further information check Compass at the start of term 3.

Happy Reading everyone, from the Library team. 😊
