Term 2 Sports Review

This term we sent out over 20 sports teams to represent the college from years 7-12 in Badminton, Soccer, Netball, Basketball and Futsal. We had success with our year 8 Boys Soccer team and Year 7 Netball B team both progressing through to the Regional Finals. Our Senior Girls Tennis competed this term at their regional final making it to the top 2 battle finishing 2nd overall!

We also ran our Whole school Athletics Carnival in Week 3 of the term -It was a beautiful far for it with the sun shinning and great morale amongst the students. We had some fantastic athletics talent on display and a fierce competition – The final win came down to the relay races at the end of the day!

The results were as follows:

1st Place Gladstone

2nd Place Munro

3rd Place Halton

4th Place Oakwood

This term also was inclusive of the Division Cross Country Carnival where 100 students progressed through from our school carnival to represent the college. The day was incredibly successful having 9 students place in the top 3 for their age groups and 55 students progressing through to the Regional Carnival – In order to do this the students had to finish in the top 15 for their race. Lyndale were able to win Overall for the 3rd year running! Incredible effort by all students involved! The Regional carnival will be held in the last week of term 2.

Thanks to all the teachers who trained and took out teams throughout the term, without these volunteers the students would not be able to enjoy our sporting programs.
