Parents and Friends

I would like to extend an enormous thank you to Keri Ross and Megan Mould for the dedication and passion with which they have led the P&F in the past three years. Their contribution to the production of the wonderful recipe book ‘More Food with Friends’ has been integral to continuing fundraising for the College community throughout the lockdowns and restrictions of the past two years. Recipe books are still available on the College website and are a fabulous gift idea for family and friends, even a Christmas present if you are thinking ahead! I would also like to welcome Zoe Price (Vice President) to the team as and thank Sarah Baker (Secretary) and Stacey Balkin (Treasurer) for their wonderful assistance thus far.

The annual Sheepvention raffle has returned, and we thank you in advance for supporting this initiative by selling tickets and donating goods. A letter has been sent home with students this week and we would like to thank Nick Sutherland at McDonald Rural Services for donating a wheelbarrow this year.

The P&F is thrilled to be supporting a free parent session led by Australia’s Leading Cyber Safety Expert, Susan McLean, on Monday 1 August 7:00pm-8:30pm in the Simon’s Auditorium. This is an incredible opportunity for parent’s and for Senior School students who will be working with Susan on Tuesday 2 August. Tickets are free but limited to auditorium capacity so please click on the following link to reserve your seat. Tea/coffee and light refreshments will be served just prior, so please join us from 6:30pm. Book here: https://tha.ac/susan-mclean-growing-up-online

We are excited to announce that the Christmas Cakes are also returning this year and with that, many opportunities to get together and lend a hand. We hope to provide some dates soon and would love College community members to participate in the production of the cakes - all expertise and prior experience welcome. Even no experience but good conversation and a laugh!

Our next meeting is at 6pm on Tuesday 26 July in the Zachariah Room. For those not able to attend in person please join us via Zoom by emailing the P & F at PaF@hamilton.college.vic.edu.au and we will send you the link. We are also compiling a mailing list for anyone who would like to be included in any P&F correspondence - so please contact us at this email address or in person to be added.

We look forward to reconnecting with the College community after the past two years of restrictions and especially welcome all new families to our school!  The meetings are a great way to meet people and to find out about the many things happening. There will be no obligation to take on jobs but we hope to see you there to join in with an enthusiastic, dedicated bunch of parents who have valuable input toward social events and fundraising for the future benefit of our wonderful kids!
