Principal's Report

Thanks for the welcome back. I have enjoyed having a walk around the school and popping my head into classrooms to say “hi” to our students and staff. I am looking forward to a great Term 3!  A big thank you to Mrs Pepper for leading our school in my absence and Mrs Soutar for stepping in as Acting Assistant Principal.

Welcome and Goodbye

I would like to welcome back Mrs Kathryn Matthews who is returning from family leave.  Mrs Matthews is well known to our students and will take on a tutoring role upon her return.

We welcome Mr Ryan Jellie into a Learning Specialist role.  Mr Jellie joins us with a wealth of experience to lead our Numeracy program. You will see Mr Jellie standing out the front of a morning so please make him feel welcome.

Mr Evan Rutherford has left us.  Mr Rutherford has been leading our ICT program over the past couple of years. We wish him well with his move to regional Victoria with his family.  I thank Mrs Pask who has taken on the ICT role!

Uniform

Please ensure students are not wearing hoodies or jumpers that are not school uniform.

Full school uniform is an expectation of all students.

Issues Arising

From time-to-time issues in the classroom arise – we are not perfect.  If there are any issues that you need to discuss, these should be discussed with the classroom teacher

If the outcome of these discussions is not to your satisfaction, please contact an Assistant Principal.

Parent Payments for Incursions, Excursions, Camps etc.

At LPS, after a rigorous audit a few years ago, we have a very clear process for parents to pay in plenty of time for the many opportunities we organise for children.

We spend a significant amount of money reminding parents of these upcoming payments via SMS and email. Late payments cannot be accepted for any event, camp, excursion etc. Accepting late payments/permission increases the chances of student safety being compromised or students missing out (as has occurred in the past), not to mention the increased workload on my staff.

By reading the class newsletter each week, keeping an eye on Facebook, reading this newsletter, reading your SMS and email, you are sure to be on top of events etc. that are coming up for your child.

Have a great fortnight!
