Assistant Principal Report

Joanna Uzunovski and Deanne Scott

Hello

My first semester at Deer Park West Primary has almost finished! I have enjoyed getting to know all of the staff and students, and some of the amazing families we have here.

It’s kind of strange to think that we have just completed our first full semester of on-site schooling in over two years. It’s been great to watch the students in their classes and to see the growth they have made with their learning and with their social skills. I am looking forward to the second half of the year with much enthusiasm. I wish all of our families a fabulous and safe holiday!

GLASSES FOR KIDS

Some of the glasses have started to arrive. As soon as I receive them, I will be passing them onto the students.

WORD OF THE WEEK CHALLENGE

Last week’s 'Word of the Week' Challenge was for the word Scared. Students collaborating to earn a Caught You Doing Right card each.

The students were:

Some of the words they found were: frightened, terrified, bone-chilling, goose-bumpy, horrified, nervous, fearful, afraid, shivery, shocked, alarmed, panicked, spooked.

I will give all students a rest from the challenge over the holidays. Look out for the newsletter toward the end of Week 1 next term, for the new Word of the Week Challenge!

Kind regards,
