What is happening in 1/2B?

We have had a great start to Term 3 with the students beginning to learn about the olden days. The students had the chance to look at some old phones, computers and how to get around without cars. They were particularly interested in how we used to listen to music. This week the students will be able to ask their parents what was different for 

them growing up and compare how it is now!

In Numeracy, the students are working on their place value knowledge, rolling a number, writing the number and then making the number using MAB. The students were determined to make the biggest number and make Miss Hannan count each of the ones cubes. The students have been working with partners to come up with different strategies to use when trying to make the biggest number and explain how they got it.

In Literacy, the students are starting procedural texts, discussing how to follow steps in order as well as being able to give steps for their classmates. They will be working on creating their own procedural piece that the rest of the class will need to try and follow later in the term.

It is just the start of the term but the students are very excited for their learning 

and we have so much waiting for us!
