Junior Legacy Competition

On the 8th of June, four Year 7 Students attended the Junior Public Speaking Competition at Hamilton’s Legacy House. Students competed against students from Baimbridge College, The Hamilton & Alexandra College, Portland Secondary College and Portland’s Bayview College. Each student had prepared a 5-minute speech on a topic chosen from the Legacy guidelines.

Marli Blohm – Voluntary Service

Shannon Mhasho – Social Justice for Women

Austin Sobey – Mateship and Remembrance

Liam Withers – Personal Sacrifice and Voluntary Service.

Following this, Students had 5-minutes to prepare an impromptu 2-minute speech. This was a daunting task, however our four representatives took it all in their stride and spoke confidently on the topic of their favourite letter in the alphabet. Congratulations Marli, Shannon, Austin and Liam for your preparation, courage, and performance on the day. Special congratulations also to Shannon, for coming 2nd on the day and making it through to the semi-finals in Ballarat.
