True community does not come about all at once. It grows by God's grace and the constant effort of each member. It needs to be built up each day into a community of faith and love, by prayer and the Eucharist, by listening to and sharing the Word of God.

At the same time, it needs to be built up as a human community, knit together by fraternal relationships, where each member brings his talents and knows that he is recognized, accepted, heard, encouraged and challenged.” – MSC Constitution #33

Our Monivae community, and by extension the MSC community, is important to us all. Four Monivae students, School Captains Mckeely Hol and Hamish Kearney, and Year 11s Klay Collins and Harry Hein, were fortunate enough to be invited to Chevalier College Bowral, to join their Sacred Heart Day celebrations.

Our students joined students from the other MSC Colleges as well – Daramalan College Canberra and Downlands College Toowoomba, where they lived Constitution #33 in sharing Eucharist and celebrating together. This opportunity to grow our community was proudly taken on by our students who were very excited to take up this wonderful experience.

On returning from the trip our students then helped put the final touches to our own Sacred Heart Day which we celebrated on the last day of Term, More will be said about this in the next newsletter.

Our St Vincent de Paul Winter appeal, which was launched on Thursday June 2nd, concluded on the last day of term. Our students collected many baskets of food that will be presented to the local St Vincent de Paul society. Thanks goes out to all families who contributed to this great cause.
