The Detailed Design plan is in its finals stages of completion. This is due to be submitted for approval by 8th November. The last costing estimate put the upgrade for safety features in the existing buildings and the new building was well over $10m. The school has to find cost savings of about $600,000. Two potential classrooms have been transferred to Stage 2  so that the school may maintain the specialist areas which are not available in the school currently.

The Inclusive Schools Fund architect Ed Ewers had finally been permitted to visit the site. He was briefed on the room concept and the the sensory input that students will gain from their engagement with the circuit set up by the Occupational Therapists.  We had hoped to install some fixed equipment in the room as well, however at first estimate he thought that the available  funding would not be enough without reducing the size of the room.  The school has agreed that we should try and build the biggest room the school can get with the available funding and if there is infrastructure installed for later additions of equipment as money becomes available.
