Assistant Principal

Dear parents, carers and friends of the school community,

I extend to you a very warm welcome back to Term 4!

In light of the Victorian Government announcement that all schools would begin a staged return to onsite learning from the first week of Term 4, JSA have continued to operate both onsite and remotely to support the learning support needs of our students.

As not all classrooms will be back onsite full-time until November 5 (pending public health advice), remote and flexible learning programs will continue to be delivered.

Please do not hesitate to contact your classroom teacher or Sub-School Leader to obtain clear information regarding how and when you will receive individualised learning materials; either electronically or in hardcopy form and the expectations in relation to the completion of learning tasks.

Looking forward to seeing everyone back onsite soon!

Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) Updates

As announced on Monday 4 October, the Victorian Government is investing an additional $230 million to extend the Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) for the 2022 school year.

This means that JSA will be able to maintain the TLI in our school and so continue the important work in providing identified students with the targeted learning relating to Social and Self-Awareness skills, to address the continued impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Principal Class Team will be connecting with Shirley Yip (TLI Tutor) to self-reflect current implementation to sustain learning into 2022.

2021 AIP End-of Year Monitoring

In Term 4, the focus for our School Improvement Teams (SIT) will be to formally document end-of-year discussions that relate to Literacy, Numeracy and Student Voice and Agency goals and targets; as outlined in our current 2021 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP).

The AIP supports the operationalisation of our school's four-year School Strategic Plan, articulating how the school will implement, monitor and evaluate progress against the School Strategic Plan each year.

Data evidence and assessments will be used in the SIT to identify what is working well and areas for further effort to improve student outcomes.

The 2022 AIP will be prepared by the end of Term 4 ready for review and endorsement and will be distributed to the school community by Term 1, 2022.
