Remembrance Day

Today we held our Remembrance Day Ceremony, it was fabulous to have the students involved in reading short pieces and taking time to reflect on such an important day.

Year 11 VCAL LITERACY and PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT students recently completed a Remembrance Day Workshop.

They addressed the Google Classroom Question:

“Is Remembrance Day still relevant today?”

Here are some of their answers:

Jack: “ I think Remembrance Day is still relevant because all those people risked their lives for the freedom of our country.”

Ben: “Yeah, I think Remembrance Day is still relevant because millions of soldiers fought in the war just for our freedom, and they are the reason Australia is Australia today.”

Dylan: “I think it's relevant because people should always have respect for those who put their lives on the line for us and the only reason we are free is because people did that for us.”

Jiy:  “Remembrance Day is still relevant because all the soldiers went to war for our freedom in Australia.”

Liam: “It still matters because we have to respect the people who fought for us.”

David: “Yes because It's a day when we acknowledge those who died while serving in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.”

Matt: “I think it is still relevant because we need to thank those who laid down their life in the field to save our country from tyrannical governments and laws. They gave up their whole life for our freedom.”
