Wellbeing and Engagement

It has been so fantastic to welcome our Foundation, Level 1&2 and Level 5&6 students back to onsite learning. Level 3&4 starting this week has completed the staggered return and it won’t be long before we can return as a whole school. We saw some very happy (and more than slightly tired) Foundation faces by Wednesday afternoon last week – and that was just the teachers! The energy and warmth that was apparent in every classroom in the school was felt by all. The current return to school date for all levels is Monday 1st November and we will keep our Silly Sock Day for Friday 5th. We encourage all students to wear their Silly Socks on that day.

Our students have been talking to Ms Hubbard and Mr Clarke about their return to school and these fabulous chats can be seen on our school Facebook Page.

Our beautiful Foundation students found lots to be grateful for this week and the Gratitude Garden sprung up!

Squid Game Update

Squid Game is a Netflix horror series set in South Korea. The show has had very rapid popularity around the world and involves the actors participating in childhood games such as marbles, tug of war and red light / green light in competitions that lead to death. The show contains very graphic death scenes and high level sexual content.

Due to its popularity and the premise of schoolyard games it has started appearing in the discussions of students at Rangeview – including the juniors. Many students may not have viewed the series itself – it is now being copied as games and video content into YouTube, ROBLOX and other platforms students access.

At Rangeview we are encouraging students to understand that the show is not for children and we will not be discussing episodes nor playing games in the yard which we call ‘Squid Game’

There is a wealth of resource and materials available to assist schools and parents to manage this concern.

Yarra Valley Psychology

Yarra Valley Psychology is running a series of back to school support session in January to support students with any issues around returning after the Christmas Holiday break. There is a group for 11-13 year old's which may be of interest to some of our seniors who will be transitioning to Secondary College.

If parents are interested in this program for their children they need to fill out the expression of interest form below and they will be contacted when registrations open via email.
