Foundation

Over the next  two weeks the Foundation students will be refining some of the skills that they were introduced to Online. Throwing will be the focus this week with an emphasis on accuracy in throwing at a target as well as throwing for distance using larger sized balls. There will be a presence of catching in the lessons before this becomes the major focus for the students in the ensuing weeks. As part of their warm up the Foundation students will also practising balance which a key fundamental skill for a range of sports.

 

Year 1/2

Similar to the Foundation students the 1/2 students will be revisiting catching and throwing from their Online Learning over the next few weeks. They will be using a small ball and practising this skill under pressure in order to embed the fundamental skills of catching and throwing. There will also be a focus on bouncing a ball as well and having control over this.

 

Year 3/4

The 3/4 students will return to their Onsite P.E. lessons consolidating the basketball skills that they were learning online. During this short recap there will be an emphasis on passing and dribbling and ensuring that these skills are very familiar to the students. The warm ups will have a focus on strength and balance which were practised regularly online and are an important part of the students development.

 

Year 5/6

The focus for the 5/6 students as they return to Onsite PE will also be centred around basketball and refining the skills that they learnt online. Their focus will be around passing as well as dribbling and doing this under pressure. They will also engage in a warm up that is geared around strength and balance.
