Dear Parents and Guardians (particularly of students in Grade 3-6),

WEEK 4

¨ STUDENTS IN ALL GRADES ARE EXPECTED TO RETURN FULL TIME

Currently this date has been set for Tuesday 26th October.  It maybe that 3-6 students have their final day of remote learning on Monday 25th October while our Prep-Grade 2 continue face to face and on Tuesday all students return to school full time.

ATTENDANCE

I would like to encourage our parents to support your children by encouraging them to think optimistically and attend school as much as possible. There are many things to look forward to.

We have set the challenge for all our students to be at school as much as possible.

Classes for 2022

It is getting to that time where we will start to place students in grades for 2022.

In 2022 we alter our classroom structures slightly.  We will have 24 classrooms consisting of the following structure:

Prep x 4

Grade 1 x 4

Grade 2 x 3

Grade 3 x 3

Grade 4 x 3

Grade 5 x3

Grade 6 x 3 and 1 class of 5/6

Our teachers place students in classrooms where they feel they will work best.  There are a range of processes they consider from academic to social to balance a class.  If you feel strongly that your child will not work productively with another student, we would require this request in writing to the school email or classroom teacher before November 3rd.

We all want the best for our students and provide the best education possible.

Other reminders

Just a reminder that hats are required for students in Term 4. Please ensure your child has one.

STAFF UPDATES

During the holiday break Mr Costanzo and his wife Simone were able to announce the arrival of a baby boy, Thomas Costanzo.  Congratulations to Mark, Simone and Bella.

Next week we have Mr Ian Forrester joining us. Ian is the Principal of Linton PS, who has been placed at our school to get experience in a larger setting. Welcome Ian.

BUILDING UPDATES

Our space between the BER and portable has been completed and is a contrast to what we had back in winter.  We will be looking to add our school values to the brick walls to complete the project.  We have also added some new fences and new gates around the school to better protect some of our garden areas.

Over the next few weeks we will commence some works in the SAKG garden and some Koorie words to our house sport animals.
