Food Technology

Remote Learning Term 3

Spending time in the kitchen has been an excellent way to have a break from laptops and WebEx meetings. It has allowed students to become absorbed in the recipes they are follow methodically and allowed them to become creative in designing new dishes which they have enjoyed with their families.

During the course of term 3 remote learning, students of Food and Technology were regularly given a cooking demonstration and asked to either copy the dish made or make an alternative dish according to the ingredients they had at home and the likes of their families. The focus of the demonstrations varied from food hygiene, food processes, working safely in the kitchen, learning about new ingredients and that each cooking experience provided a lesson in science. Several students took up the challenge and submitted photos of their cooking experiences. Here is just a sample of such photos.
