Community Association

Community Association Meeting 13 October

We had a wonderfully productive Community Association meeting this month. A massive thank you to all who attended, it was so nice to see you all.

We are all very excited that our children will be back at school, all together from 3 November and we are able to plan for a fun remainder of the school year.

Community Association events will include -

5 November  - Welcome back to school - Icy Pole Day

26 November - School Production, on the BIG SCREEN. Before the screening we will be welcoming our community to tour the new school grounds.

Friday 10 December - Special Food Day. This will be a VERY special food day. Stay tuned!

Sadly, we have had to postpone the MUCH anticipated school disco until 2022. We will do our utmost to make sure this one happens in Term 1 2022.

We also welcome any members of the community to contribute their ideas, thoughts  or time, to assist with the planning for our Year Six end of year school events.

Outreach

Our outreach work continues and we again welcome donations of casseroles or groceries. The following link is a great resource for those amongst us who may be seeking assistance. https://askizzy.org.au/ You are able to select what resources you need, the postcode you live in and it then brings up all of the organisations local to you that can assist.

A huge thanks to everyone who gave so selflessly of their time to provide support to our community in the form of outreach.

Grants

Please let your class rep or one of the CA know if you are aware of any grant opportunities, big or small, for the remainder of 2021 or opportunities we can look at for the new year.

AGM

We would love to see you at the St John’s School Community Association AGM on Wednesday 1 December at 7pm.

We would normally be celebrating a year of fundraising, outreach and social events.  Instead, we will be planning for 2022 with the goal of bringing our community together again.

We also invite you to come out of your COVID hibernation and consider offering your time and talent and become an active member of the CA for 2022!

Come and join us and take on one of the many fun and rewarding Community Association roles…

Special Food Day (SFD)

Our next SFD will be ice-cream from an ice-cream truck on Friday 19th November

It’s $4.50 per ice-cream and students can choose between gelato or soft serve ice-cream. Parents will need to join CDFpay to place an order and pay online (Instructions below). Make sure you click on the Parent & Friends' Payment to access the order form.

Please complete your order by 9am, Thursday 18 December via the app. Students only need to decide on the choice of gelato or ice-cream to submit their order. The choice of toppings will be available on the day and  students have a choice of choc dip, choc and sprinkles, plain and sprinkles and sherbet or seven gelato flavours. Students will get their ice-cream at the start of the second break.

NO cash payments

Mango Drive

It’s that time again and we are all excited!

We have been informed by the mango farmer that due to an unseasonably warm winter this year, there is a limited amount of Kensington Pride mangoes available. Consequently the tray size has been reduced from the usual 7kg tray to 4.5kg (8-14 mangoes) to be able to supply all regular customers.

Because the tray size is smaller the cost has also decreased - $20.00 per tray

The order form below (PDF or excel) includes the bank transfer details for payment.

Please complete the form and return it to aplant08@gmail.com

In your electronic bank transaction details please include “Mango” and “Your surname” for identification.

The last day for orders will be Friday 29th October.

I will contact you to advise the date for pick up in early December.

Please do not hesitate to email aplant08@gmail.com or call 0414 786 147 if you have any questions.

Thank you for your support - Michelle Plant.
