School Advisory Council Meeting 19 October

Thanks to the School Advisory Council for attending another online meeting!

It was exciting to hear the plans for the return of all students to school, as they have been waiting a long time and we have no doubt there’ll be a few adjustments. There are lots of things to look forward to though with the renovations complete, new line markings around the playground and the chickens.

Four new policies were discussed including Anaphylaxis, First Aid, Attendance and Duty of Care. All policies are being gradually reviewed as part of the changeover to MACS. We also had a discussion about the Future Leader Program. Some useful suggestions were made in respect of promoting the program and giving the students greater responsibility in communicating their role within the school community.

A number of members are retiring at the end of this year and we welcome engagement with new members. We would like to thank Rob Hale and Warren Butterworth for their many years of contribution and insight. We would also like to thank Amy Prenc for taking on the role of Secretary. The School Advisory Council gives an excellent opportunity to see how decisions are made and provides parents the chance to voice their suggestions for improvements. The AGM will be held on November 23, hopefully on-site and all parents are welcome to attend. You will hear from the Chair and Principal as we reflect on the year gone and look forward to the year ahead. If you have any questions about the role of the School Advisory Council, please do not hesitate to contact Verona or any of the current members.
