Specialist Times
This semester (Terms 3 & 4) all Foundation students will participate in the following specialist classes on Tuesdays:
Visual Arts, Physical Education (P.E.) and Information Communication Technology (I.C.T.). Please make sure your child has their art smock at school.
PMP lessons will continue this term and will occur fortnightly on Friday afternoons. Our first PMP session for Term 4 will be in Week 5, Friday 6th November. Students should wear their sports uniform every Friday so there is no confusion.
Students are to wear their P.E. uniforms on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Library Borrowing
We will commence library borrowing in Week 2 of Term 4. Students will need to bring in their library bag, and will change books every week. Students can borrow 1 book per week.
Our borrowing day is Monday.
Homework Statement
Both the green (homework) and the blue (communication) folders will be in use this term. We will be continuing to give students new readers on Mondays and collecting the readers on Fridays. Please record and sign off on your child’s nightly reading in their ‘Reading Record’ book so that the teachers can monitor their reading.
Please continue practising the M100W words with your child so that they can be tested on their respective day.
Speaking and Listening Experience
We will be commencing Speaking and Listening Experience in Week 3 (Monday 19th of October) this term. Students are invited to share certain objects for Speaking and Listening Experience on their M100W testing day.
Below is the list of topics we ask students to focus on for Speaking and Listening Experience. They may show an item or prop to help them.
Students should try and speak about their topic for about a minute and at the end they will choose up to 2 friends from the audience to ask a question. Please discuss with your child what they are going to say about their Speaking and Listening Experience topic so that they are prepared.
