Classroom News - Year 2

Miss Simpson, Mrs Phelps and Mrs Cain

Miss Simpson and Mrs Phelps have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to communicate with parents during our recent conferences. Please keep and eye out for some future Compass communication around electronic PM readers and the 200 essential sight words.

Our new focus in Religion is on God's Creation, which started this week with a study of the Parable of the Good Samaritan. This unit follows on from our learning about how we can reflect God's goodness. We really enjoyed learning about the Saints and how they follow the Commandment of Love.

Our current Storybook, 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs', has been keeping us entertained this fortnight. This version is written from the perspective of the Wolf! It has highlighted for us just how many versions there are of this traditional tale. The point of view of the wolf has been explored by all of Year 2 and has helped to see things from other people's perspectives.

We have recently finished studying our Geography unit about Australia, and its location. This week, our new Science unit about light and sound is getting us excited!

We continue to join together as a grade to learn in the flexible learning space  where we get to share the expertise of our teachers and friends.
