Leadership Centre

Curriculum

It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome back students and their families for Term 4. We hope the holidays provided rest, relaxation and rejuvenation for what promises to be a wonderful final term of the year.

In the last week of term, students completed their Term 3 reflection which provided great insights into the term achievements and areas of improvement for the remainder of the year. Specialist days, Senior Disco, Book club, Readers Theatre, Maths Zooms and the ‘Housing Estate Maths project’ were listed as highlights of Term 3. Students also noted their excitement about returning to school and are looking forward to being with their friends and working collaboratively with peers.

Whilst we acknowledge the juggle and difficulties of remote learning, all staff in the leadership have nothing but admiration for the positive attitude of the 5/6 students. Yes, some days were hard. Yes, some days motivation levels were low. Yes, some days we missed friends. To our students, you are amazing and we can not wait to see you back at school again. To our families, thank you for being an integral part of remote learning.

And now, let Term 4 begin! Our first week of term will be remote learning again with the  return to onsite learning in Week 2. Students will begin the term by writing their goals for Term 4 which will be posted onto Seesaw. In Maths students will be creating chance experiments and interpreting data in the Chance and Data unit. Our Guided Inquiry of ‘The Journey to Discovery’ will allow students to explore all things Science. Students will complete a number of experiments, creating hypotheses and sharing ideas on ‘how things are so?’

Our 5/6 students created Picture books for younger children. Here are some of our stories. Thanks to the students who read their books to the Foundation and 1/2 classes. They loved hearing your stories!

Term 3 Highlights

Housing estate - This was a highlight because I challenged myself all the time when I was doing this from Area to Ratios. It was hard and I loved to challenge myself when I did this. I liked how I made the areas for the houses pretty weird but I did it so I could easily fit in 15 houses- Surya

Book Club -  I also loved we did our book club when we had our own book to read and add all the detail in literacy.- Lucas

Lunch time zooms - The afternoon zooms were very fun, made more enjoyable and were funny!- Shriya
