Being Published Authors - Year 1 and 2 Community

The Year 1 and 2 community have had a focus on Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy by Lynley Dodd over that past few weeks. 

They have learnt about:

• the characters
• language used to describe the characters
• rhyming words used in the book
• using the writing process to write their own Hairy Maclary like book.

For writing, the children had to choose a character from the Hairy Maclary series or make up their own character and write a story about them including orientation, problem, resolution and describing language.  They were able to publish their stories in the medium of their choice. Check out their work below.

Well done to the Year 1 and 2 community! Many are still completing publishing their work ready to present to their class at their Author Celebration day on Friday.
