Term 4 is my favourite term - maybe because the days are getting warmer, maybe because there is more sunshine, or maybe because everybody starts to get excited for Summer holidays.  Whatever the reason, it is an exciting and busy term for everyone.  While there is still a few weeks ahead of us before Summer officially starts, we can look forward to exams (for our senior students) and transitions for all students. Whether you are studying for exams or preparing to change year levels or maybe even campus, there are a few things that help us to stay calm and feel positive about the challenges we are about to face:

Tip 1: Sleep.

Getting a good night’s sleep would have to be one of the simplest ways to prepare for exams, or challenges that we face.  We all know that we need between 8-10 hours of sleep to rest our brains and absorb all the information we have learnt during the day.  A great thing to remember is that the sleep you get before midnight is the most important sleep!

Tip 2:

Surround yourself with the right people.  If you (or your child) are preparing to change year levels next year, stop and think about the people you are friends with, and ask yourself, ‘will these people help me to be the best version of me?’.  If your answer is “yes”, you have made great choices about your friendships. The same rule applies for studying for exams, surround yourself with people that will help you study – rather than people who might distract you.

Tip 3:

Have fun.  Life should be about having fun, and while there are times to focus and to stress, it is important to make sure that you are enjoying the journey along the way.

Keeping caring about eachother.

We had a fantastic response to RUOK Day across the college, but 3we must not limit our caring and consideration to just one day. Let make a habit of it.
