It is wonderful to have our students back in the classrooms across our campuses.
Term 4 is traditionally a very hectic time with always a lot going on and of course we have Christmas and summer holidays and transitioning to a new year level to look forward to.
Each week has something exciting in our F-2 classes but we are also trying hard to keep a strong focus on routines.
It is 'Book Week' this week and "footy colours" too but our routines of sharing our learning continue calmly.
The disrupted year has seen families do amazingly well to get through remote learning with the good and the bad that that brought. Now is time to get back to as normal as school life as we can.
As an F-2 Team we are looking for calm learning areas, routine learning formats and daily practice of our skills.
Young children can do this well and already we are seeing wonderful learning taking place. We wish you success at home getting back to school day routines and bed times. As we know only too well, we are all in this together.
As you see from short clip of a prep class incursion the presenter on screen has each group focussed and tuned in.
It is always useful for families to talk about what new learning has taken place and reinforce the understanding.
Here are some weather pictures that could start a conversation.
Due to Covid-19 we have had to change many aspects of school and this is also the case with our transition process for our 2021 prep students and their families. Last week the college began individual meetings with parents to finish the enrolment process and also link them into two of our important apps that are used, Seesaw and Compass School Manager.
Each week we will be pushing out information and activities using Seesaw to our future prep students and parents. Some of these things will include photographs of the campuses, classrooms and teachers, things to get ready at home for school next year, stories being read by teachers, Singing Links songs to try at home and much more. We will also be having some small group onsite sessions for our future preps later in the term and also an online Webex meeting to allow parents a chance to ask any questions and feel prepared for next year. We have tried to include all our usual prep transition program content but just in a slightly different way. We are looking forward to meeting our new 2021 prep students both online and in person later in the term.
