Performing Arts Trivia Night

A lot of opportunities are provided for students to interact with each other during the concerts and productions that are staged throughout the year. This year, we have not had that opportunity. With that in mind, we will be holding the inaugural Performing Arts Trivia Night. Anyone is welcome, but the questions will be centred around the Performing Arts- Music, Drama, Film and past Aitken Productions. Teams of four will consist of students from different year levels and each team will be identified by a previous Aitken Production as the Team Name. More than $300 in prizes will be on offer including Ticketmaster, JB Hi-Fi and iTunes Vouchers.

Individuals need to register, click here https://forms.gle/BzJYeoh8APrgLrHq9 by Tuesday 15 September. The Zoom link for those involved will be sent out on the day of the competition.

Zoom Play Reading

Thank you to all those who attended the two Zoom Play Readings we held this term. We hope to schedule some again in Term 4 and welcome contact from students who would like to get involved. Generally, your commitment would be a Monday after school rehearsal followed by the performance the following Monday night. It is a great way to interact with other students so express your interest by sending an email to mcooper@aitkencollege.edu.au.

Online Instrumental Concerts

We have a small number of students who have been undertaking strings lessons and working as part of ensembles with our private tutor, Ms Ally Broddle. During the final week of this term, we will be hosting a brief concert for them to share some of what they have learnt this year. The concert is open to all by following the Zoom link: https://aitkencollege.zoom.us/j/99743929875 from 4.30pm on Tuesday 15 September.

The following day, on Wednesday 16 September, commencing at 4.30pm will be students undertaking Woodwind, Brass and Piano lessons. There are eight students taking part in this concert and we invite you along to support them. Go to https://aitkencollege.zoom.us/j/91908534047. Perhaps it might also inspire others to take up music lessons next term or year. Details for all of our private music offerings are available on My Aitken or by emailing music@aitkencollege.edu.au.

Lip Sync Battle 2. 0

Has your family planned out their Lip Sync yet? Following on from the first lockdown, the Performing Arts Captains will be hosting Lip Sync Battle 2.0 on Friday 9 October. Families are invited to plan out a song/dance to a song of their choice.

This time, it will be uploaded to FlipGrid using the QR Code here or by going to https://flipgrid.com/45cbfdff before the end of September.

The Parents & Friends have donated some prizes in the form of shopping vouchers to the winning families, so get cracking.

Think about costumes!  Think about backgrounds!  Think about a theme!

You must use a school email address to access FlipGrid and cannot use a family email. So, get planning!
