Deputy Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

This weekend we celebrate Father’s Day.  We remember Dads

who are loved, missed, but remembered forever.

                                     A Prayer for Father’s Day

Thank you, God, for all who show a father’s love in our world.

Thank you for those who are special to us.

Be close to those who are sad today.

Help us know that you, our Father, are always close.

 Amen

Father’s Day Competition

All students are invited to enter the attached SJ Father's Day competition and be in the running to win a box of  goodies for their Dad / Father Figure.

The competition can be accessed via the email which was shared, or via theSJ School Portal (Remote Learning Page - Noticeboard)

Goodluck!

Revised School Closure Days

In anticipation of returning to onsite learning and a clash with our scheduled school closure day on Friday 3rd September, our Term 4 planning has been postponed to Friday 8th October.  This date will be our new School Closure Day.  These events have also been updated on the St James Parent calendar.

Kind regards,

Carmelina Corio

(Deputy Principal)

Please find below some friendly reminders.

School Photos (Due to current government restrictions, this date will be confirmed closer to the day)

The Year 6 Graduation Photo  and Student Leadership Photos will no longer be taken on Monday 13th September. A new date will be scheduled based on government restrictions and CECV School Operations Guide.

COVID-19 Safety at School

At St James we have put a number of strategies in place to reduce the risk of transmission.  No one strategy is 100% effective.

Here are just some of the ways we are doing to keep our Students, School community and Staff safe and well.

In light of current restrictions and inline with our School COVID Safety we ask that you respect and follow the following guidelines.

A few reminders regarding students who attend onsite during Remote Learning 2.0

  • Please ensure that they bring their assigned device (Ipad or Chromebook) which has been labelled by the school.  If students are attending each day, they need to ensure that devices go home each night and are brought back charged.  Devices should not be left at school, in the event that the school is closed and we are unable to enter the building.
  • Students require their own set of headphones for Google Meets etc.
  • A daily Student Covid-19 Declaration Form will need to be completed and brought to school each morning.

Parents and Carers who have enrolled their child/ren in onsite supervision, please ensure that you fill in the Operoo shared with you.

Service Victoria QR Code and Face Masks

We kindly ask that all parents, carers and contractors and volunteers check-in using the Service Vic QR code displayed and wear a mask when entering the school building.

Thank you.

Self Isolating during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Can we kindly ask that if you or your family are required to self isolate during these times, that you inform the school via info@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au so that we can offer any assistance possible.

Thank you!

Social Distancing

Thank you to all parents and carers who are helping the community to stay safe and healthy by keeping 1.5m apart at drop off and pick up times.

Although physical distancing will not apply to students in class, it does still apply to staff and parents. Therefore we ask that you respect our requests to minimise contact and continue with social distancing during drop off and pick ups, adults will also need to adhere to wearing masks when in public places including drop off and pick up when it is not possible to socially distance.
