Term 3 Music at St. Augustine's

Drum Line Opportunity!

There are still available lesson spots for drums so if you're keen, get in touch!

Are you interested in having drum lessons but not sure where to start? We've got a month of free Drum-Line sessions open to all students from Grade 3 and up.

A drum-line is basically all the parts of a drum kit split up - so you'll be drumming away with a group of students. Come along from 2:15-2:45pm on a Thursday for a few weeks and learn a fun song!

No previous drumming experience is required - so give it a go! For COVID-19 numbers, you must register your interest using this form. We'll then get in touch and let you know when things are kicking off.

While this opportunity is open to all, it's really specially designed for those who want to enrol in drum lessons - it's a great way to participate musically at St. Augustine's!

Ensemble Times and Days

Ensemble (for guitars and other instruments) will run on Tuesday and Choir (just for singers) on Wednesday. The rehearsals will be at lunchtime (11-11:45 am) in the Music Building. Ensemble students will need to bring their instruments with them.

There is no cost for participating in these ensembles, so it's a great chance to get involved!

Note: These rehearsals occur on-site in the Music Building with COVIDSafe measures in place.

What is an ensemble?

Ensemble is the chance to make music in a group. Students learn songs in lessons ready to rehearse and perform altogether. The ensembles will be working towards St. Augustine's events, including Mass.

Ensembles are not the same as lessons - they're not the place to learn the material. Instead, this is the time to build really good listening and reading skills as a group.

Want to join an Ensemble?

If you want to be in either Choir or Ensemble, please let us know here.

Anyone is welcome to join Choir, even if they're not having singing lessons, just pop your details here

Ensemble is also open to guitar students who learn outside school, so long as they've played for at least a year.  Students that know how to play other instruments such as, brass, strings, or percussion are also welcome, just make sure you hit the link and enter your details (LINK)
