NOTICES

WE WANT OUR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS/GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst parents/caregivers/guardians (previously known as the Parent Opinion Survey).

It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.Parents/caregivers/guardians were invited to participate in this year’s survey via a link through a Compass Newsfeed.

All responses to the survey are anonymous. The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Please assist the school by completing the survey by 22 August.

BSC features in music video

Kitty Rae, a Melbourne dark pop artist, has produced a song focusing on the important topic of consent, called ‘Red Lights’. The music video was partially filmed in the Da Vinci building at BSC!

Many students will recall Kitty performing at the “Colour Run for Mental Health” event at Dendy Park in 2019.

The song and film clip can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYhMCbksEUg&ab_channel=KittyRae

Voyager 2021

Voyager 2021 (Yearbook) is now available to purchase for $25 via the compass event.

Please note that we will not be accepting any orders past the end of term 3 and there will not be any re-prints.

Purchasing a Voyager is a great way to commemorate each year and look back on in the years to come.

From the Registrar

Student & Family Records

We are required by the DET to maintain current records of students address, family contact details, health & medical information and parent’s education & employment. We endeavour to do this by sending or emailing a copy of the student’s record and request that parents/guardians check, update, sign and return this to us – registrar@brightonsc.vic.edu.au

If students live between two households due to parent separation and you would like individual Compass portals, please email registrar@brightonsc.vic.edu.au and this can be organised.

You are able to update your phone and email details through your Compass portal (go to the cog symbol on the top tight corner and select Update My Details and the following dialogue box will appear, update your details (this generates an automatic email to the college)

Wellbeing and Community

Generating Fun, Energy & Joy as a Family with teenage children

BGKLLEN would like to welcome family and friends to this private webinar with Dale Sidebottom. This one-hour session is designed for families to participate and have fun together. During uncertain and testing times, it is very easy to become overwhelmed, stressed and anxious by everything out of our control. And so much has been out of our control, not just from the virus itself, but most aspects of our lives have been impacted – from work, finance, socialising, and mental and physical health. But what if we can shift our focus to what we can control in our day?

Join Dale as he shares simple and practical ideas to support our mental health and wellbeing as we adapt to this new reality. Dale has several brand-new ideas that he has created and tested this year to help bring more joy, fun and laughter into our lives even in these unprecedented times
