UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)

New higher education students will need a USI in order to be eligible for Commonwealth financial assistance (HECS-HELP). A student’s USI is their lifelong education number and is a federal government requirement.

All domestic VTAC applicants (and some international) will be required to provide their USI at the VTAC account registration stage and will not be able to register without it.

Create your USI now to avoid delays to your course application.

SATAC

Many students are considering South Australian Universities for their future studies. SATAC have slightly different processes than VTAC such as:

SEAS and Scholarships advisory deadline for guaranteed document review

Students who submit their SEAS and Scholarship documentation by Friday September 17 will be guaranteed a review of their documents and contacted if there are any problems with them, for example, if they are illegible or out of date. This will give students time to resubmit documents before the final SEAS and Scholarships deadline of 5pm on 8 October.  We will continue to review documents submitted after the advisory deadline and prior to the final deadline but cannot guarantee that the initial document review will be completed in time for resubmission of rejected documents.

List of VTAC courses with early closing dates

Some courses list an early closing date in the course information published on CourseSearch. These courses cannot be added to preference lists once the early closing date has passed. In addition to the notation in CourseSearch, a list of these courses for 2021 can be found here: https://www.vtac.edu.au/early-close.html

Open days

Open days give you the opportunity to learn how an institution works and if it's the right fit for you. You can meet staff and students, see facilities, experience the on-campus culture and ask lots of questions. Visiting an institution's open day is in excellent way to get a feel for both the institution and the course you want to pursue.

Check out VTAC’s list of institutions' open days and begin planning your visits today.
