TRANSITIONING TO NAPLAN ONLINE 2023 INFORMATION UPDATE

NAPLAN SCHOOL READINESS TEST                  (Daniela Borgese - eLearning)

The school readiness test is for schools transitioning to NAPLAN Online in 2022 and is designed to check a school's readiness to conduct NAPLAN Online. It is a ‘practice run’ to the school's technology ahead of NAPLAN Online.

The readiness test is not an assessment of student ability.

The readiness test allows schools to:

  • become familiar with the NAPLAN Online test format and processes
  • check whether they have the technical capacity, rooms and devices to administer NAPLAN Online
  • provide students in NAPLAN Years 3, 4 and 5 with the opportunity to experience the online test question types and format by completing a practice NAPLAN online test

The readiness test consists of two 40 minute assessments: an omnibus test with reading, conventions of language and numeracy items, and a writing task. Students in Years 3, 4 and 5 will participate in the school readiness test.

St Mary’s will be contacting the readiness test on:

Thursday 25 November, 2021

After the readiness test has been completed there will be feedback to schools about the technical information gained from the readiness testing. There will be no reporting of student test results from the readiness test.

You can find further information regarding NAPLAN at https://www.nap.edu.au/naplan/parent-carer-support

Remote Learning Assembly

We would like to congratulate all our Year 6 Leaders who have continued leading Assembly during Remote Learning. It was definitely not an easy task while remote and students took on the extra responsibilities of meeting with Mrs Ferrari via Google Meets and many emails to arrive at the final videos each week. We have no doubt that the efforts of our Year 6 students has played an important part in keeping our St Mary’s community connected during lockdown.

The video below is one of many community messages shared by our leaders.

Audrey and Teddy remind us how to wear a mask!

Thank you for all your hard work Year 6! It was a pleasure working with you to create each Assembly.
