Our Refurbishment

Ms Mary Craven

On Wednesday Cathy and I had our fortnightly site meeting with key Haddarco staff, Steph from MACS and Stephen from Hayball Architecture. All going well, we will get to do a site tour in the next couple of weeks and we cannot wait to see how things have progressed.

As students and staff have returned to their onsite learning days they have eagerly peered through the windows and fence to see what is happening on site. There is lots of progress that we can see has happened with the outside area. The lift is almost finished and the concrete on the ramp and stairs (for access near the Italian room) was done earlier this week. The next stage there is for the paving and rendering to start. In fact, lunchtime yesterday saw the concrete pouring of the main stairs which both staff and students were fascinated by.

Haddarco shared the updates with us on the inside refurbishment. We often see materials arriving and their update let us know that nearly all the painting is done inside and they are currently installing the joinery (cupboards etc in our language). They have been working with a range of services to ensure everything is in place for us to use these terrific new learning spaces.

Cathy and I have been making lots of decision around colors and we cannot wait to see how it all comes together in the next few weeks.

We share with you some recent photos so you too can see what is happening in behind the fence and on the roof!

We look forward to updating you even further on progress once we get to look inside.
