Sports Woman of the Week

Erin Carroll receives first Baggy Green!

What an amazing fortnight for Year 9 student Erin Carroll.

Erin was the opening bowler in the Victorian Metro Cricket team which competed in a mix of T20 and One day games around Canberra and NSW in the Australian U15 National Championships. Erin’s team finished 3rd on the back of some great performances by Erin, including 3/17 off 8 overs in their match against SA.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Erin was selected in the Cricket Australia U15 High Performance squad. These girls were selected on the recommendations of the Australian selectors and all received their first baggy green cap. Erin will now head to Brisbane in September to train and play at the Cricket Australia High Performance Academy.

To further top those achievements Erin was asked to be a net bowler to the Australian Women’s Team prior to their match against New Zealand last Saturday. It was a dream come true for Erin to be bowling against World Cup champions Elyse Perry, Alyssa Healey and Meg Lanning. An amazing achievement Erin – keep up the hard work!

Due to renovation works at Oakleigh Recreation Centre the SESG Sport program will take place at Monash University.

The Intermediate teams (Year 9 and 10) will play on Tuesdays and the Junior teams (Year 7 and 8) will play on a Thursday. The girls will leave school at 1.45pm as most of the games will be early games. They are expected back at Kilbreda by 4.30pm. Please see attached the draw for Term 2.

The sports are Basketball, Badminton and Futsal. Trials for these sports will start towards the end of Week 6 and continue over the next few weeks of Term 1. We would like you to encourage your daughters to try out for these teams. They are a great way to meet new friends, try new sports and compete in a friendly atmosphere against fellow Brigidine Schools.
