A Message from our 2019 Language Leaders

Buongiorno tutti / こんにちは!

Say hello to a new and exciting year for languages! First of all, we’d like to introduce ourselves. We are the College Language Leaders for 2019, Mary Rose Killingsworth (Italian) and Isabella Nicholls, (Japanese). We are very excited for this year and have so much planned for the Languages Domain.

New Languages Learning Area

As some of you may know, we have been assigned a new Languages Learning Area. Gone is the old and confused Room 20, say hello to the new and hip Room 53! The preloved offices next to it are also perfect for oral practice, che fantastico!

We are looking for enthusiastic and creative minds to help decorate the room, If anyone is interested, please email us at (maryrose.killingsworth@kilbreda.vic.edu.au or isabella.nicholls@kilbreda.vic.edu.au ) or speak to your Language teacher.

Japanese Poster Competition

To kick off the term we ran the JLTAV Poster Competition. The girls participating were required to create a poster reflecting Japan or Japanese culture.  

We are very happy to announce our three lucky winners were Charlotte Clark 8/51, Sophie Bloom 8/61 and Claudia Vannutini 8/48. Their work has been entered into the Victorian Competition and we wish them the best of luck for the next stage.

All submissions were fantastic and we are very proud of everyone who got involved and spent time creating such lovely pieces of art.

2019 Italian Study Tour

We are very excited to announce that the Italian Study Tour for 2019 commences in 4 weeks. This will be the second Italian Study Tour with Kilbreda, and the girls are currently practising their Italian and having regular meetings to prepare for the trip.

Everyone is very excited and we wish them happy and safe travels. Buon viaggio ragazze!
