To the St Brigid's School Community,
Well here we are halfway through the term and the students have been actively participating in many different learning opportunities. We have celebrated Science Week - ask our Year 5/6 class about the cabbage! This week we celebrate Book Week. This is one of my favourite times of the year - having an opportunity to listen to many different storybooks, participating in activities about the books and especially the Book Week Parade!(Friday) Look out on our Social Media pages for photos of the different activities.
Catholic Schools Music Festival
Last week, 4 of our senior students travelled to Loreto College to participate in the Catholic Schools Music Festival. This is an amazing opportunity for our students to perform on stage at the Entertainment Centre after many months of learning new songs and rehearsals for the event.
Sport
On Wednesday last week, students represented St Brigid's School at the SACPSSA Cross Country in Adelaide. Students worked with Mr Hrisafinas and participated in time trials to be selected to represent the school. Students participated in Year Level competitions and had to run 2km to complete the race.
Enrolments
Since our last newsletter we completed our August Census, I am pleased to announce we have seen a 7% increase in enrolments from the February census. This is a positive trend and hopefully the start of seeing a continued increase in our enrolments. We have started our planning for 2022 and still have some vacancies for all year levels. If you know of anyone who is looking to move to St Brigid's School, I will offer a $100 refund on the 2022 school fees to the family who recommended the new student once they have started at St Brigid's School.
School Card
Just a friendly reminder if you think you might be eligible for school card, please come and see Rosie in the front office to get the paperwork started.
