R U OK?

A prayer for our staff, families and our students from Father Andrew.

Lord God,

your Spirit of wisdom fills the earth and teaches us your ways.

Look upon these students.

Let them enjoy their learning and take delight in new discoveries.

Help them to persevere in their studies and give them the desire to learn all things well.

Look upon these teachers.

Let them strive to share their knowledge with gentle patience,

and endeavour always to bring truth to eager minds.

Grant that students and teachers alike may follow Jesus Christ,

the way, the truth, and the life,

For ever and ever.

Amen.

Dear Parents and Friends,

Well we are closing in on another term of remote learning. Again, this has been a very difficult lockdown but I am so proud of you all - your resilience and perseverance should be commended.

NAPLAN Results –Year 3 & Year 5

The Individual Student Reports were sent home via mail last week, you may or may not have received them as yet. These tests were undertaken back in May 2021 by our Year 3 and Year 5 students and provide a snapshot of their skills and abilities at that time. Obviously, much learning has taken place since these tests.

Please take the time to read through all of the information provided on the report. If you have any further questions in relation to your child’s NAPLAN results, please feel free to contact your child’s classroom teacher and make a time to discuss these further.

Please make sure you put these Naplan results in  a safe and secure file as you will need the Year 5 Naplan results for the enrolment process for secondary school. We do not keep a copy of the report here at school.

Classes 2022

It is that time of year when we seek feedback from families in relation to your child’s needs for class placement in 2022. This information is one of the many ways which helps us to construct our classes for next year. These are not to be requests for teachers nor are they seen to be binding once sent. Your feedback combined with staff and student feedback will ensure a fully informed decision making process for 2022 class formation. If you wish to provide feedback, it must be sent via email and sent to me principal@sbmord.catholic.edu.au by Friday 17 September marked private and confidential.  Please do not do email via your child’s classroom teacher, Tracey or office@. due to the confidential nature of the email.

Families not returning in 2022

If your family is not returning to St Brigid’s in 2022 (excluding Year 6 students) please notify me as soon as possible at principal@sbmord.catholic.edu.au

School Closure Day

Just a reminder that Friday 17th September (last day of term) is a school closure day as published in the parent calendar this year. The staff will be working with MACS on pre-planning for our School Review which will be in Term 2, 2022. Team Kids will be open for the day if you need to book your child in please contact TeamKids as soon as possible so they have an idea of numbers.

Team Kids will also be open for the normal school holiday program. Please contact Team Kids if you need to book your child in for the holiday program.

School Advisory Council - New member

We need a new member for our School Advisory Council. The role is that of the secretary which involves putting out the agenda to the council members and taking minutes from the meeting. The School Advisory Council is an advisory entity only.

Footy Day

Football finals are well underway with the Grand Final just around the corner.   Wear your team colours on Thursday 16th September!

School Devices

Just a reminder that when children are using school devices at home, to check your home internet security as our school restrictions do not work at your home and your child can access sites that they would not be able to at school.

Yours in partnership
