French Excursion

Mercredi 26, pendant les sessions 1 et 2, les années 9 et 10 qui étudient le français sont allées en excursion à 'The Flour House' à Highett. Nous avons chacun commandé en français, un croissant ou un pain au chocolat ainsi qu'un chocolat chaud. Nous avons ensuite écouté l'histoire des employés (en Français) qui ont expliqué comment ils ont créé leur boulangerie/café. Le propriétaire (Damian), nous a aussi montré comment ils roulent la pâte pour préparer leurs croissants. Nous avons ensuite pu essayer de les rouler nous-même. C'était une très bonne expérience et les croissants étaient délicieux! Merci Damian!

On Wednesday the 26th of May, the Year 9 and 10 students studying French had the opportunity to visit the Flour House, a patisserie in Highett. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the owner Damian, who introduced us to two native French speakers, Romain and Laura. We got the opportunity to ask in French for a croissant or pain au chocolat as well as a hot chocolate. They were absolutely delicious and as we were eating them Damian provided a demonstration on how they make their gourmet croissants. Many students got the opportunity to roll their own croissant, which we were able to collect for free on the Saturday following the excursion. Overall, it was a really good day and we learnt a lot.
