Language & Culture Program

Kii, Deadly TPS community, biladu-njan wat/how are you all? And in the words of my Yawuru language...Ngaji gurrjin/Hello everyone!

This year’s NAIDOC theme is’ Heal Country’. All classes have dedicated a three week unit of learning towards this theme, with teachers and their students working together to build understanding of what ‘Heal Country’ means for them. The Term 3 focus in LOTE is also based on this theme.

Unfortunately, because of Covid-19 restrictions, we have had to adapt our plans for our whole school NAIDOC Day Celebrations, which was to take place in Week 3 of this term. Incursions have now been organised where students will experience working with different First Nation artists, around the NAIDOC theme of ‘Heal Country. We are hoping to put together a visual record of all of the activities to share with families.

In Term 3, students will also be learning about the Eight Wurundjeri Seasons in Melbourne.
