Gardening

We have been exploring the NAIDOC theme of "Heal Country". We have been building relationships with our local council and their re-wilding teams and helped plant out Henderson Park. The climate emergency team have also come and taken a short film of what gardening means to our students.

Our Term Three unit is looking at reclaiming some of the edge to our vegetable garden which the builders next door helped remove large quantities of concrete for us. We have been composting, mulching and preparing our beds to create herb, flower and climber gardens. We have also been collecting coffee grounds from our local cafe and so far have recycled over 100 kgs of used coffee grounds into our composts. Our main focus for the next few weeks is making cuttings, so far we have made hundreds of cuttings of native and non- native species hoping to share them with our wider community.
