T.I.M.E (Music)

Thank you for another very musical lockdown!  We know that our students loved their online lessons and we are extremely happy to have our young musicians back onsite.

Due to the uncertain nature of this term we have had to cancel or postpone some of our community performances, these include the Minis, Seniors and School of Rock. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

We are busy working on our Arts Festival Performances for Saturday 23rd August.  Pencil in November 20th as a backup date for the Arts Festival in case we need to postpone.

No matter what the circumstances we will try our best to ensure our students have some performance opportunities.

Music/Performing Arts

In performing arts we finished our term of percussion with our artist in residence Jeremy, who shared his passion for Gamelan with the students. We continued using a collection of his instruments from Indonesia and learnt some more about the linked rhythms practiced within that style of music. We have been so lucky to have Jeremy share his knowledge, equipment and time with us, and fortunately he will be staying over term three where possible, to run a gamelan club at lunch times; Tuesday for grades three to six, and Wednesday for juniors in grades one and two.

Term three in performing arts is going the way of dance, we will have a guest choreographer preparing us for some dances that will be shown off at the arts festival. In the meantime during lockdown the keen few in remote learning were greeted by the moves of Eddie rocking out in his Adidas tracksuit. Below are some photos of our time learning about gamelan.
