Parents & Friends

♥️Sending lots of positive support vibes to those of us who woke up with a twitch in the eye at the thought of remote learning this week. Fingers crossed we’re back to ‘normal’ next week.

🎂The Junior Cake Raffle last week was MASSIVE, thanks entirely to the Booth family who supplied 4 gorgeous plates of cakes and cupcakes. The raffle raised ####.

🤝There are a couple of things to note from Jess Sterritt Walker who is our Community Support Liaison person which may be of need now more than ever:

I am seeking expressions of interest from those who would be interested in attending parent support group meetings.  I have previously run these meetings with great response and if the need is there I am more than happy to start them up again. These meetings are a safe place for parents who have children with additional needs to get together informally over a cuppa and share experiences and advice. Please reach out via email or text if you would be interested in attending. All attendees are asked to maintain confidentiality about discussions at the meetings and the school has no active involvement in the meetings.

🥣 Jess also co-ordinates support for school families through an anonymous volunteer community. Your family, or a family you know, may be having a challenging time due to the latest lockdown.

Please know that you can reach out to Jess to let her know what you need - eg. groceries essentials, some snacks for lunchboxes or a few home cooked meals. Jess reaches out to her volunteers who provide what’s needed and both parties stay anonymous to each other.

🍕Special Lunch Day was EPIC!

At least 90% of our children put in an order for pizza, cheese & bacon rolls or cheesymite scrolls, and a huge amount of organising was done by Sue in the office to collate all the orders.

All the pizzas and rolls were prepared by Greg and his amazing team at Bakers Delight Brentford Square and he was blown away by how big our order was! He and his team started baking even earlier than usual to get all the orders ready.

On Wednesday Jess, Sue & I worked quickly to get all the orders assembled in just over an hour. It was hectic!

Thanks to all the ordered. We’re investigating the next Term’s Special Lunch Day based on the success of this one.

Also, next time you’re grabbing your bread at Bakers Delight Brentford Square, don’t forget to mention that you’re a member of the MPRPS community - Greg & Bronwyn donate a % of your purchase back to the school.

🍔And finally, a big thank you to Luke at Vermont South Gourmet Meats. We put in a huge order for the BBQ last Thursday, and Luke was so enthusiastic about being able to support the school. When we had to call off the BBQ at short notice, he was absolutely lovely and very understanding. Fingers crossed we can support Luke and his business again soon.

Stay safe and sane!
