No trams running between 10am and 2pm on Thursday 20 February

Notice from Public Transport Victoria

Due to protected industrial action, trams will not run between 10am and 2pm on Monday 17 February and Thursday 20 February 2020. Services are also expected to be significantly disrupted until approximately 3.30pm as the normal timetable is restored. If you are travelling on a tram at 10am, drivers will request passengers to get off at the nearest stop. This will enable trams to continue to the nearest depot.

During this time, passengers are advised to plan ahead and consider alternative modes of transport.  Metropolitan trains, buses and V/Line are not affected and will run as normal. We expect these services to be busier than usual.  A replacement bus service will run; but this will be very limited and will not service all the tram network. Significant delays are expected for passengers using this service. We encourage you to check our website before travelling for up-to-date information and alternative travel options. We apologise for the inconvenience that the industrial action will cause and thank you for your patience.

Footy's in the air!

The Women's (AFLW) season has opened with a bang, featuring plenty of young women not long out of school. And where did their journey begin? At clubs such as Fitzroy Junior Football Club, where many Northcote students play.

At Fitzroy - the Lions - we cater for girls from Under 8s to Under 18s. February is recruitment time, when our dedicated group of parent coaches look forward to seeing new faces and their families.

This year, our Welcome Day will feature a tackling clinic for girls, to be run by a couple of AFLW/AFL experts. It's open to current and new players, parents, and anyone else who might be interested.

The Dragons are an inclusive and family friendly football club and have a range of skills and experience amongst our playing group of boys and girls aged 8 - 18. We welcome young people who have played before or are completely new to footy or organised sport and work closely with our Senior club to provide a progressive player pathway.  We also offer payment plans for registration recognising that it is an expensive time of year for the family.
