Change Active Hours on device updates

We are currently working through some infrastructure and technical issues with our broadband supplier and the DET to make sure that our wifi is as fast and reliable as possible. With so many users in a compact area, there is a high level of demand on the school network. There are some simple things that all students can do to help enhance the school wifi.

 

We ask that all users change active hours on their devices to ensure automatic updates do not occur during school hours.

 

To change these settings on your device please complete the following:

Students are asked to ensure that, in addition to charging their devices overnight, they are turning on their devices outside of school hours and when connected a wifi source, to ensure updates are installed.  If you have any additional questions please contact IT Support for assistance.

New devices - installing the school certificate

Students new to Northcote High School or who have purchased a new laptop in 2020 will need to see IT Support at the following times to gain school wifi access:

Before school 8:30 – 8:45am;    During Lunch or Recess;  After school 3:15 – 3:30pm
