Stronger Smarter

Students from Kindergarten to Year 10 have been involved in many activities this term surrounding the theme of 'belonging'.
Our younger students have been reminded about the potential in all of them by reading the beautifully written story by Kobi Yamada called 'Maybe'. 'Maybe' is an inspirational story recognising the diversity in all of us and encourages us to try new things and to keep trying. Students took time to dream big, sharing their dream careers. Some of those careers included a ringer in the Northern Territory, a teacher, a clothing designer and a Youtuber.
In recognition of Sorry Day this week, we held class discussions surrounding the importance of the Acknowledgment of Country and what Reconciliation Week means to us here at Boorowa Central School. Students also decorated their very own rainbow serpents showing great teamwork skills and cooperation in the process.
Our older students have been exploring the diversity between groups and within groups by taking part in activities such as a human diversity continuum highlighting multiple perspectives within our groups. Students have also learnt about the meaning of culture and are now in the process of ascertaining what values they believe are important in their school cultures groups. We are looking forward to formulating our own rituals and traditions in the coming weeks.
Remember we come to school to learn so our brains are stronger and smarter so that we can mix it with the best of them and achieve our goals.
We never stop learning regardless of our age.
