Year 8 Catapult Project

Students of Year 8, during Term 2, have recently investigated how force, motion and energy can be used in systems, machines and structures. Students  eagerly researched, designed and produced a small scale catapult and were afforded an opportunity  to experiment and develop prototypes for  testing their solutions.

Classes developed an  understanding of how force and properties of materials can affect the behaviour and performance of a catapult.

Our classes have enjoyed this opportunity to work in groups, formalising their individual designs and incorporating medieval flags and banners that were used in battles of the times .

Well done Year 8
