Exploring Early Childhood – Childcare visits
Last week, Year 11 Exploring Early Childhood class began their incursion to Warilla Alphababies Childcare Centre. They were provided with the opportunity to interact with children of various ages, learning about their routines, play, and hands on educational activities. As you can see, our students had just as much fun as the children! They partook in activities such as play dough, cards, puzzles, and ‘What’s the time Mr Wolfe?'

Eco-Friendly Year 7 Students
7S have been learning about plastic pollution and the impact of waste on our envorinment. Did you know that the average person ingests a credit card size amount of plastic every week?
7S students up-cycled their plastic bottles and turned this waste into beautiful terrariums. Closed-terrariums are the perfect ecosystem,as they take care of themselves. The water evaporates and clings to the top of the bottle, then slides down the sides of the bottle, watering the plant. The students worked really well and should be proud of their work.
The class have also created a school-wide Recycling Program! Every Friday, the class targets different areas of the school and takes out their paper recycling. 7S are hoping to reduce the amount of paper which is incorrectly dumped in general waste bins.
Well done, 7S, for helping our school and environment.

Many of LIHS's staff, students and community members have been affected by cancer. As such, LIHS staff are organising a Biggest Morning Tea to support the Australian Cancer Council on May 26. Students will be invited to participate via a cake stall and BBQ at lunchtime.
If you would like to support our efforts, our fundraising link is below, or students can see Ms McKinlay (Science) if they are interested in contributing to the stall.
Our fundraising page also has a gallery space to upload photos of those who are in our thoughts. If you would like to have a photo added, please email one picture and a name and/or caption to kerry.mckinlay@det.nsw.edu.au

Year 12 Aboriginal Studies Major Projects
At the end of Term 1, Year 12 submitted their Major Projects. They had been working on them since Term 4 last year, so it was a big milestone!
Some great Projects were submitted and it was clear that students not only spent time completing the tasks to the best of their ability, but they also connected deeply with their subject choices.
Year 12 would like to thank Denise Willis for all of her help throughout the project. The class would not have performed to such a high standard without your help and guidance!
Below are some photographs of some of the artworks and display that the students created.
