The 2021 LPS Grades 3-6 Cross Country was held at Lloyd Park on Tuesday 8th March. Thankfully the weather turned out to be good after having being postponed by a week. The students were great. Students came with excellent attitudes, gave their best effort and there were many great performances. Congratulations to all the students who participated, and to those who will be attending the District Cross Country on Wednesday 4th May at Hastings Foreshore.

Below is the list of standings for each race with the first 10 x students qualifying for District.

I would like to thank the many parent volunteers for giving their time to help with the event, from those who walked with students and teachers, to those who spent time manning different positions on the course, for the entirety of the event.

Grade 6 Lightning Premiership

Last Friday all Year 6 students participated in the Murdoch District Lightning Premiership in cricket, softball, newcombe and rounders. All sports were played at different venues and by all reports the students played with passion, good spirit and were very respectful, displaying excellent sportsmanship as well. All teams faired very well against their competitors with the highlight being the Newcombe A team winning their grand final. Well done to everybody who played with a smile and did their best.

Athletics Day

All Grade 3-6 students ventured on the bus to Ballam Park last Monday to compete against one another in track and field events. Although the temperature kept rising to become a little too hot for some students, it was a great day overall. There were lots of smiles and great achievements amongst the students across the board.  Congratulations to those students who secured themselves a ribbon and to those who did not. Well done for following our THRIVE philosophy and Trying Your Best. Students who finished either first or second in any of their events will advance to the District Athletics Carnival to be held in Term 3.

The winning house will be announced at our Whole School Assembly on Monday 4th April and the winners of the 100m & 200m will also be announced. Congratulations everybody on a wonderful day.
