School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

There are a few improvements coming Kismets way regarding student management, School Wide Positive Behaviours (SWPB), Student Wellbeing, Behaviour Matrix, Behaviour Management Process and creating our very own KPPS Wellbeing Framework. But before our SWPB SIT team tackle this, there are some things that we are going to implement starting term 2.

Beginning this term we, as a whole school are going to focus on 1 key value every term. At the beginning of each week, we will announce the expected behaviour we, as a school are focusing on and make Compass announcements promoting the expected behaviour so that all children can talk about the behaviour at school and at home.

Teachers will be explicitly teaching in a wellbeing lesson the expected behaviour for the week and we will be promoting the expected behaviour by handing out yatta cards when the expected behaviour is shown in and outside the classroom.

Term 2 value is BE RESPECTFUL

Week 1 expected behaviour is Keep our hands, feet and objects to ourselves.

The Positive Behaviours Matrix (where our expected behaviour comes from) has recently been updated and there have been 2 key improvements to the document.

  • The areas in our school have been redefined to reflect our learning environments. See below.
